About us Prestage Foods is a family owned turkey processing business. See www.prestagefarms.com to learn more. Prestage Foods operates a 200,000 square foot turkey processing plant in St. Pauls, NC. Prestage Foods products are marketed throughout the eastern United States. This processing plant was operated until 2004 under a joint agreement between Prestage and another company. During 2004 the Prestage Foods brand name was established. In early 2005 the plant began to process and market turkeys under Prestage Foods. This was the next logical step for the Prestage organization to establish its own brand name after being a national leader in turkey production for more than 23 years. Prestage Foods, in August 2005, had 300 employees and added a second shift in 2006, which increased the number of employees to approximately 500. Currently, Prestage Foods is at full production with an estimated 700 employees. Further expansion is planned with the addition of a distribution center. At full production, the plant will process and market all of the 10,000,000 turkeys grown annually by Prestage Farms of North Carolina. Prestage Foods and Prestage Farms are committed to producing and marketing top quality turkey products at competitive costs. Prestage Foods currently packs a variety of products for several major retailers and premier further processors in the eastern USA. Prestage Foods produces whole birds, BIB's, tray pack, grinds, bulk parts and boneless meat. A 65,000 sq. ft. cold chain expansion opening in early 2009 will give Prestage Foods the capability to increase value added products.
